WebCommander

MYOB is a proprietary accounting software for Australian businesses developed by MYOB Technology Pty Ltd. It manages many accounting artifacts including categories, products, tax, order etc. Web Commander allows you import and export a few such databases between WebCommander and MYOB.

Those users of MYOB who want to work using both MYOB and WebCommander these import and export options are very helpful for their businesses. Currently WebCommander supports the import and export of "Customer" information. It supports the export of "Order" and "Invoice" and import of "Tax Codes", "Categories" and "Products".

Software Requirements
To import and export databases between WebCommander system and MYOB, you need the following software to be installed in your local machine.

  • Windows Operating System
  • MYOB AccountRight (Premier or Standard version).
  • Java 2 Runtime Environment Library (JRE).

MYOB Setup

To use MYOB, you need to be a registered user. As a registered user, you should have a username and password. Moreover you should have a license key for your registered version of the software. In addition to this you should have the Driver name to use with MYOB.

In summary you should have the following information:

  • Driver Name
  • Application Path
  • Company File
  • User
  • Password
  • License key

How to Synchronize MYOB and WebCommander


WebCommander provides you an interface to synchronize the database of MYOB with WebCommander with certain limitations. The following list shows you the scope of import and export in WebCommander:

  • "Tax Codes" information can only be imported from MYOB to WebCommander
  • "Customers"information can both be imported from MYOB to WebCommander and exported from WebCommander to MYOB.
  • "Products" and "Categories" can only be imported from MYOB to WebCommander
  • "Orders" can only be exported from WebCommander to MYOB.


To synchronize any of the above items, you need to follow a sequence of steps. You should not skip any step of synchronization, but you may stop synchronizing at any stage. You must synchronize in the following order:

  • Synchronize Tax Codes
  • Synchronize Customers
  • Synchronize Products and Categories
  • Synchronize Orders

WebCommander doesnot charge any additonal charges or monthly fees for using MYob.
